Choice of Wall Types

Our Focus on Fabric provides you with a wide choice of wall types. These are listed below and can all be supplied as components, or as part of a full Design & Build solution for your project. 

Basic Timber Frame panels for you to fit insulation

Panel-frame 100 – single sole plate to lower floor, open cell 38x89 CLS treated frame, 9mm OSB3 sheathing, Tyvek or similar breather membrane to outside face. Stud positions marked by either marker die or tape. Open cells are ready to receive services and either mineral wool, spray, or rigid insulation on site by others.

Panel-frame 150 – single sole plate to lower floor, open cell 38x14 CLS treated frame, 9mm OSB3 sheathing, Tyvek or similar breather membrane to outside face. Stud positions marked by either marker die or tape. Open cells are ready to receive services and either mineral wool, spray, or rigid insulation on site by others.

Panel-frame 210 – single sole plate to lower floor, open cell 45x200 CLS treated frame, 9mm OSB3 sheathing, Tyvek or similar breather membrane to outside face. Stud positions marked by either marker die or tape. Open cells are ready to receive services and either mineral wool, spray, or rigid insulation on site by others.

Panel-frame 210 I-beam – single sole plate to lower floor, open cell 45x200 I-Beam frame, 9mm OSB3 sheathing, Tyvek or similar breather membrane to outside face. Stud positions are marked by either marker die or tape. The internal frame is left ready to receive services before fitting the internal vapour membrane and internal lining board followed by a specialist contractor spraying in cellulose or other insulation into the cavity.

Panel-frame 260 Twinwall – this composite wall, 260mm wide overall, has 2 leaves each with 38x89 studs set on single sole plate to lower floor and 9mm OSB3 sheathing to the outer leaf with Tyvek or similar breather membrane to outside face. Stud positions are marked by either marker die or tape. The two leaves are erected independently and connected together by 100x180x9mm OSB plates, leaving a virtually unrestricted space of 63mm between to effectively block any possibility of cold bridging. The internal frame is left ready to receive services before fitting the internal vapour membrane and internal lining board followed by a specialist contractor spraying in cellulose or other insulation into the cavity.

Timber Frame panels with insulation included

Eco-frame 100 – as for Panel 100, but with 70mm Celotex or similar rigid insulation fitted into the panel cells in the factory.  This saves considerable time and waste on site and obviates the need for waste separation to conform to latest regulations.

Eco-frame 140 SIP – 2 x 15mm OSB3 panels are used to sandwich a high performance 110mm rigid urethane insulation core. This core is routed out to accept sole plates, binder and framings where required to provide location and fixing and joined together by OSB3 or similar splines slotted into edge mortises similarly routed out. 

Factory ‘Filled Cell’ Insulated Panels

 

Eco-frame 150 – as for panel 100, but with 120mm Celotex or similar rigid insulation.

Eco-frame 210 – as above, but with 180mm Celotex or similar rigid insulation

Eco-frame 210 I-beam – as for Panel 210, but with inner lining of 1,000 gauge polythene vapour control membrane and 6mm Panel Line, plus voids fully filled with Warmcel sprayed cellulose insulation and wood wool or similar packed into cavities between I-beam panel abutments to minimise cold circulation bridging.   

Eco-frame 260 Twinwall – as for Panel 260 Twinwall, but with inner lining of 1,000 gauge polythene vapour control membrane and 6mm Panel Line, plus voids fully filled with Warmcel sprayed cellulose insulation and wood wool or similar packed into cavities between I-beam panel abutments to minimise cold circulation bridging.

Timber Frame panels with extra external insulation to avoid cold bridging

Thinwall Eco-Warm 100 – as for Eco-frame 100, but with an Insulating Fire Retardant Breather Venting Membrane on the outside. Yielding a Building Reg compliant ‘U’ value of 0.35 with glass wool insulation and a brick cladding, the insulation value of your wall can be significantly improved beyond this depending on the type and mix of insulation materials used in conjunction with this panel.

Eco-Warm 125 – as for Eco-frame 100, but with an external wrap of 25mm Celotex mechanically fixed to the outside of the panel with 25x38 battens.  These are then used either as cavity tie fixings for brickwork, or as fixings for a range of cladding and render treatments.

Eco-Warm 175 – as for Eco-frame 150, but with 25mm Celotex external wrap per Eco Warm 89.  This effectively blocks cold bridging and increases the thermal insulation significantly.

Eco-Warm 235  – as for Eco-frame 210, but with 25mm Celotex external wrap per Eco Warm 89.  This effectively blocks cold bridging and increases the thermal insulation significantly.
